What is Aldosterone/Plasma Renin Activity Ratio?
The ratio is a derived marker that expresses aldosterone output relative to renin drive. Because aldosterone secretion should track with renin, an inappropriately high ratio — aldosterone that is not suppressed despite low renin — suggests autonomous aldosterone production independent of the renin–angiotensin axis.
