What is Cortisol (30 minutes post-waking)?
The cortisol awakening response is the rapid rise in cortisol 30–45 minutes after waking, typically an increase of 50–160% above the awakening value. It is thought to mobilise energy and cognitive resources for the day and is modulated by anticipatory stress, sleep quality, and HPA-axis reactivity.
