What is Estriol (dried urine, GCMS)?
Estriol is a weak oestrogen produced in small amounts by non-pregnant women via 16α-hydroxylation of estrone and estradiol. It is the dominant oestrogen of pregnancy, synthesised by the foetoplacental unit, but contributes minimally to oestrogenic activity in non-gravid states.
