What is Red Blood Cell Antibody Titre?
The titre measures how many serial dilutions of patient serum still react with antigen-positive red cells. A titre of 1:16 means the serum reacts at a dilution of one part serum to fifteen parts saline. Higher titres reflect greater antibody concentration and, in obstetrics, correlate with increased risk of haemolytic disease, though the critical titre threshold differs by antibody and institution.
