What is Adrenaline?
Adrenaline is synthesised from noradrenaline in the adrenal medulla and to a lesser extent in some central neurones. It mediates the acute fight-or-flight response, mobilising glucose and fatty acids and increasing cardiac output. Urinary adrenaline reflects adrenal secretion and is metabolised to metanephrine.
