What is Lead (Urine)?
Lead is a non-essential metal that accumulates in bone and soft tissues. Urinary lead reflects recent exposure and is a less sensitive marker of body burden than blood lead, which integrates circulating and recent bone-release lead. Urine lead may be useful in monitoring chelation therapy or when blood sampling is impractical, though blood lead remains the standard screening tool.
