What is Tetrahydrocortisone?
Tetrahydrocortisone is a hepatic metabolite of cortisone, formed by the same 5α/5β-reductase and 3α-HSD pathway as THF. It is the single largest urinary steroid metabolite and reflects both cortisol secretion and its peripheral inactivation to cortisone. THE excretion is a surrogate for total glucocorticoid metabolism.
